Do you have to register bees in Louisiana?
Yes, anyone who keeps bees in Louisiana needs to be registered. The law is, that all honey bee colonies shall be registered annually with the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
Can you keep bees in Louisiana?
It is permissible to keep bees in Louisiana. Every beekeeper has to register with the commissioner every colony or apiary in his possession or under his control. Louisiana Laws say, No person shall move, ship, or bring into this state any colony, honeybees, or beekeeping equipment except as provided in this Section.
